Itinerary in Detail

    Day 1: Edinburgh

    A private transfer from Edinburgh Airport or Edinburgh Waverly train station to your hotel is provided. Following this, your Tauck journey will begin with a guided tour to the Stirling Castle. After this, participate in a welcome reception and dinner.

    Day 2: Edinburgh

    Today, you will embark on a sightseeing tour of historic Edinburgh with a local guide. This tour includes a private visit to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the King's official residence in Scotland. The remainder of the day is spent at your leisure.

    Day 3: Edinburgh - England's Lake District

    This morning, depart from Edinburgh and travel south though landscapes of forests, rivers, castle and country houses to Cumbra, England's most northwestern country. Enjoy lunch in a grand manor house surrounded by gracious gardens. Traveling through landscapes of hills, woods and tranquil fields, you will have time for a brief stop in the Village of Grasmere. At your own pace, enjoy the village pubs, cafes and churchyards. Continue your journey to England's Lake District, where you will have dinner at the hotel.

    Start your day exploring Levens Halls, a manor hour on the banks of River Kent, with beautiful grounds filled with gardens, hedges and a willow maze. Return to your hotel, where the rest of the day will be spent at your leisure.

    Day 5: England's Lake District - Wales

    Today, you will make your way from England's Lake District to Wales. One your way, start your day exploring Chester, one of England's best preserved wall cities. After this, head to Colwyn Bay, a seaside resort town on the north coast of Wales. Tonight, you will have time to settle into your hotel, and enjoy a Welsh themed dinner at your hotel.

    Day 6: Wales

    Start today by visiting Caernarfon Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site via a privately guided tour. Enjoy lunch in a nearby town, and then return to your hotel. Enjoy dinner at your hotel tonight, where outdoor dining includes a stunning view of Conwy Castle and the beauty of the bay.

    Day 7: Wales - Oxford

    Today will begin with a visit to the timber-framed farmhouse and childhood home of Anne Hathaway, wife of William Shakespeare. Following this, you will travel a short distance to Stratford-upon-Avon, where Shakespeare was born and raised. Later in the afternoon, travel to the bookish world of Oxford, one of the world's most famous university towns. A guided orientation walk will introduce its cobbled streets, guarded quadrangles, celebrated libraries and archaic traditions of learning. The remainder of your day will be spent as you please.

    Start your day visiting Winston Churchill's birthplace, Blenheim Palace and Park. Your private guide will share the history and beauty of the palace and its extensive grounds. After lunch on your own, spend some time in Oxford exploring as you please. Tonight, you'll attend a special hosted dinner at Oxford University.

    Day 9: Oxford - Bath

    Start your day at Stonehenge, with a self-guided walk around the famous ring of stone. Following this, you will be transfer to Bath, one of Britain's most beautiful cities. Arrive for lunch at the stylish Pump Room Restaurant, set within the city's ancient Roman Baths complex. Founded upon natural hot springs, the baths were built for bathing and socializing. Afterwards, check in to your hotel near the bath city center. Dinner this evening is at your own leisure.

    Day 10: Bath

    Today, take a city tour with a local guide through the Royal Crescent and the Circus. Following this, view the Pulteney Bridge and Bath Abbey, where the first King of England was crowned. The remainder of the day if free to enjoy the city as your please.

    Today, you will be driven to London, with a stop along the way at Hampton Court Palace. Arrive in London mid-afternoon for an introductory sightseeing tour featuring some of the British capital's most iconic sights. Check in to your hotel for a three night stay. The remainder of your day and evening will be spent in London as you please.

    Today, visit Westminster Abbey on a guided tour. The afternoon is free for you to explore London's key sights as you wish, before enjoying dinner at your hotel. Following dinner, you will have a choice from a selection of theatre performances to attend.

    Today, join a walking tour of the key London sites. The afternoon is free for you to pursue what interests you most in London. Join an evening farewell reception and dinner at your hotel.
