Great Plains
Great Plains reveals a passion for ecotourism that is a model of the safari industry.
Great Plains Conservation is a multi-award winning company with luxury safari camps and lodges in Botswana, Kenya and Zimbabwe. Foremost a conservation organization, it protects threatened environments through intelligent management and operates ecotourism to maintain conservation as a sustainable land-use alternative. Emmy-award winning filmmakers Dereck and Beverly Joubert are co-founders and chief executives of Great Plains – deeply involved in the safaris they curate and the land they safeguard – and have both been appointed National Geographic Explorers in Residence.

The Tully perspective
The accommodations, the commitment to conservation and sustainability, the game viewing – it doesn’t get any better.
Cathy Grano, Travel Designer
Great Plains is an amazing company from practically every standpoint. The accommodations, the commitment to conservation and sustainability, the game viewing – it doesn’t get any better. So many of their lodges are my favorite properties. From Duba Plains in Botswana to Ol Donyo and Mara Plains in Kenya, each has a style and a consistency like no other. Owners Dereck and Beverly Joubert bring an Out of Africa feel to the place, generating the most amazing experiences possible, the best game viewing. And to also have service that goes above and beyond, meeting and exceeding expectations, is the icing on the cake.
