South Africa and Namibia Safari

Upon arrival, you will be assisted to your hotel right across the street from the airport, spending the afternoon acclimatizing. Dinner is at the hotel later on.

Today, you transfer to the Johannesburg airport for a safari flight to Tengile River Lodge for three nights in Sabi Sands region. Morning and evening game drives deliver the Big Five – lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, and rhinos. Other animals within these regions include the cheetah, hippo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, and hyena.

The unique Tengile River Lodge only has nine suites, so you’re set for a personal luxury hospitality experience. Enjoy indoor and outdoor lounges, outdoor showers, a private pool, and a personal bar. During your visit, you can explore the region on foot with a guide and take a tour of one of the communities nearby.

After breakfast at the Tengile, you head to the airport at Skukuza for a flight back to Johannesburg for one night. The rest of your day is at leisure, as you rest up for your trip to Namibia tomorrow.

Today, you fly to Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia, and catch a connecting safari flight to the andBeyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge for a three night-stay at the edge of Namib-Naukluft National Park. One of Africa’s most compelling landscapes, the 30,000-acre Sossusvlei Private Desert Reserve is set within one of the world’s oldest living deserts. You reconnect with nature and yourself during this visit, enjoying morning ATV experiences, afternoon wildlife drives, evening dune drives and dinners under the stars.

The andBeyond Sossusvlei also offers an interactive kitchen, phenomenal stargazing with a state-of-the-art telescope, helicopter flight-seeing over the mountaintops and desert dunes – even the opportunity to take an early-morning hot-air balloon ride over the desert.

After breakfast, you depart Sossusvlei for a scenic flight to the award-winning Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp at the edge of Skeleton Coast National Park in northern Namibia.

Entirely solar-powered, the modern camp sports eight luxury tented suites that look out onto an otherworldly arid plain – a wide, rugged valley that slopes down to the usually dry Hoanib River. Spend your time exploring the dunes and enjoying afternoon game drives with wildlife researchers, catching sight of elephants, lions, giraffes and oryxes. Your time here also includes a full day scenic drive to the shipwreck remains and seal colonies on the Atlantic coast, complete with a picnic lunch.

Flights today send you to Cape Town for a three-night stay at Cape Grace, a glorious escape at the water’s edge, replete with rare antiques, local artworks and lavish suites. The rest of the day is at your leisure – a whisky-tasting, afternoon tea or a soothing spa treatment, perhaps?

After breakfast, you enjoy a full day of exploration in Cape Town, with fast-track tickets to Table Mountain. Visit Iziko Bo-Kaap Museum and discover the city center, before heading to lunch at a winery in Constantia, a wine-producing suburb. The afternoon is spent at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, with dinner later on at the 12 Apostles.

Today brings a private tour of Cape Point Nature Reserve, a biodiverse section of the Table Mountain National Park. Enjoy the extraordinary cliff vistas, the sandy beaches, the penguins at Boulders Beach, a funicular ride and a thousand species of endemic plants. The day concludes with a sumptuous farewell dinner.

We say goodbye today, with a private transfer to the Cape Town airport for your return flight home.
