Thailand Retreat: Rejuvenating the Spirit

Upon arrival at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel in the city in the comfort of a private vehicle.

After a healthy vegetarian breakfast, you can recharge after your long journey with a spa treatment at the Oasis Spa, one of Bangkok’s best day spas, located in the heart of the city. The Aromatherapy Hot Oil Massage in particular is a soothing treat.

Afterward, you will be met by your guide and accompanied to Wat Mahathat for an introduction to Buddhist meditation. As an important meditation center, Wat Mahathat is open to everyone, with rituals practiced on a daily basis. Using techniques similar to those taught by Mahasi Sayadaw and based on four foundations of Mindfulness described in the Maha Satipatthana, these classes will teach you a variety of meditation methods. You will rise early today to take a morning stroll through Lumpini Park to watch the locals taking their morning tai chi, yoga, and aerobics classes, before transferring to the Be Organic by Lemon Farm Restaurant at Portico Langsuan for breakfast.

Afterward, you will have the opportunity to visit one of Bangkok’s most popular attractions, the famed Grand Place, which has been the seat of Thailand's revered royal family for more than two centuries. This half-day tour gives you the time to explore the complex of temples, palaces, pavilions, and museums. One must-see attraction is the Emerald Buddha, which, according to legend, is almost 2,000 years old. Your tour continues to nearby Wat Pho, Bangkok’s oldest temple and arguably its most impressive, home to the 150-foot reclining Buddha.

Lunch today is at Nahm, one of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, where standout dishes feature rare ingredients from all regions of Thailand. Later this afternoon, you will visit the Bangkok Float Centre for a 60-minute floatation session to totally ease your mind.

This evening, the sights, sounds, and aromas of the historic Bang Rak neighborhood, the Village of Love, delivers the local experience, packed with authentic history and intimate stories. Your dinner tonight is hand-selected by local culinary experts.

After breakfast, enjoy a private transfer today to the seaside town of Hua Hin. Your tour explores Phra Ratchaniwet Marukhathayawan Palace, the beautiful teak palace built by King Rama VI, and Khao Takiab, where you can experience breathtaking views of the Hua Hin skyline.

After lunch, you will continue on to your resort. This luxury resort combines international standards with Thai hospitality to deliver holistic wellness programs that incorporate mind, body and spirit. Dinner tonight is at your resort.

Your next two days will be spent at your leisure, as you enjoy the blissful surroundings of the Anantara. Modeled on a traditional Thai village, the resort of set on lush, tropical grounds with lotus-filled lagoons and canopied pathways winding throughout. Naturally, the spa is a peaceful paradise. You can also enjoy golfing, kite surfing, sea kayaking, and snorkeling, plus the surrounding parks and temples, night markets, vineyards, waterfalls, and a gorgeous coastline.

Today you will fly to the island of Koh Samui via Bangkok and transfer to the fabulous Kamalaya Koh Samui, your home base for the next five nights.
