Day 1
Day 1 — Lisbon
Upon arrival in Lisbon, enjoy a private transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is spent at your leisure exploring Lisbon or relaxing at your hotel.
Day 2 — Lisbon
Today, begin your tour of Lisbon by exploring the city’s charming streets with a private guide. Take a ride on the iconic yellow trams and visit the picturesque Pena Palace. Wander through a magical park, where each turn offers a sense of intrigue and discovery.
Day 3 — Lisbon
After breakfast today, meet your private driver and guide in the hotel lobby for a historical tour of Lisbon. Explore the city’s rich past, shaped by influences from the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Moors, and the Portuguese. Discover Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest neighborhood, and visit St. George’s Castle, situated on a prominent hill overlooking the city. Tour the traditional commercial districts of Downtown and Chiado. Enjoy a guided visit to the National Azulejo Museum, where you can learn about the history of Portuguese tiles and participate in a private tile-painting workshop. Enjoy a private transfer back to your hotel after the tour.
Day 4 — Lisbon – Coimbra – Porto
This morning, enjoy a private transfer to Porto. On the way, stop in Coimbra to visit historical sites with a local guide, including the stunning University Chapel and its Baroque library. Continue to Porto and check in to your hotel in the historic district, where you’ll enjoy picturesque views of Porto.
Day 5 — Porto
Today, explore Porto on a panoramic tour of its most vibrant and cultural areas, including Boavista, Foz, the UNESCO-listed historic city center, the Church of São Francisco, the Stock Exchange Palace, and the famous wine cellars. Cross the iconic D. Luis Bridge and savor the aroma of aged Port wine while learning about its production and storage. Enjoy a tasting at Graham's Wine Cellar until closing time. After the tour, enjoy a private transfer back to your hotel.
Day 6 — Porto - Douro Valley
After breakfast, enjoy a private transfer from Porto to the Douro Valley. Check into the Six Senses Douro Valley, then meet your private driver and guide for a tour of the region. Visit Régua, the heart of one of the world’s first demarcated wine regions established by the Marquis of Pombal, and Vila Real, home to the 18th-century Mateus Manor House, which appears on the Mateus Rosé Wine label. After a day of exploration, return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 7 — Douro Valley
Today, your driver will take you to a traditional manor house for a morning cooking class, offering an immersive experience in the Douro Valley’s rich history, traditions, and culinary culture. Your guide will take you through the picturesque estate, including the farm, olive groves, and organic gardens. After the cooking lesson, enjoy lunch featuring the dishes you prepared, either in the elegant dining room or al fresco on the patio. Conclude your day with a private transfer back to the tranquil Six Senses Resort in the Douro Valley.
Day 8 — Douro Valley
Today, visit the exquisite Quinta do Noval, situated in Cima Corgo, in the heart of the Douro Valley. Known for its exceptional Port wines and pioneering the first stratified Port wine bottle, this estate offers a unique experience. Upon arrival, tour the estate and its historic cellar, and enjoy a wine tasting paired with a delicious three-course lunch.
Day 9 — Douro Valley - Porto
This morning, following breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a private transfer to the airport in time for your flight.
