Day 1
Day 1 — Lima
Upon arrival at Lima International Airport, enjoy a private transfer to your hotel, and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 2 — Lima
Following breakfast, meet your private driver in the hotel lobby to begin your exploration of Lima. Start with a visit to the Plaza Mayor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the impressive Cathedral of Lima, known for its intricately carved stalls and gold-plated altars, as well as the Government Palace, City Hall, and the Archbishop's Palace. Next, visit the San Francisco Monastery, home to the largest collection of colonial religious art in the Americas. From the historic center, travel through modern Lima to the Larco Museum, housed in a distinctive 18th-century mansion. Admire its extensive collection of ancient Peruvian gold and silver. After your visit, return to your hotel for a relaxing evening at your leisure.
Day 3 — Lima – Cusco – Sacred Valley
This morning, enjoy a private transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, enjoy a private transfer to your hotel in Sacred Valley. Enjoy a scenic drive through the stunning landscapes of Sacred Valley. In the afternoon, visit the Awanakancha Center, where artisans from over 12 communities in Southern Peru demonstrate traditional spinning, dyeing, and weaving techniques used to create Andean textiles. You'll also learn about the four groups of South American camelids whose fibers are integral to these handcrafted pieces. Next, explore the town of Pisac, known for its vibrant market offering a variety of handicrafts, including ceramic jewelry, hats, and textiles. Return to your hotel for a relaxing evening at your leisure.
Day 4 — Sacred Valley
This morning, meet your private driver to start your day of excursions. First, visit Ollantaytambo, known for its impressive Inca fortress. Climb the steep stone steps to the top of the fortress for unparalleled views of the valley and the remarkable sun temples. Next, explore Moray, an intriguing Inca site featuring concentric circular terraces. Later in the afternoon, visit Maras, a charming colonial village renowned for its traditional salt pans.
Day 5 — Sacred Valley
Today is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Start with a leisurely breakfast on your private terrace and spend the morning relaxing by the infinity pool or indulging in a spa treatment. In the afternoon, stroll through the lodge’s gardens, savor a gourmet lunch, and perhaps join a sunset tour. Enjoy a day of relaxation and discovery at your own pace.
Day 6 —Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu
Today, enjoy a private transfer to the train station. Board the luxurious Belmond Hiram Bingham train for a scenic journey to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, enjoy a private transfer to your hotel, located just steps away from the Inca citadel. After checking in, enjoy a private guided tour of Machu Picchu and its surrounding complexes. Return to your hotel for afternoon tea and a relaxing evening.
Day 7 — Machu Picchu – Cusco
This morning, after breakfast, choose between two exciting hiking options. The first option takes you along the Inca Trail, offering a scenic approach to Machu Picchu. Alternatively, you can hike Huayna Picchu, which rises 260 meters above the Machu Picchu ruins and provides panoramic views of the site. Following your hike, board the bus to the train station and embark on the Belmond Hiram Bingham train back to Cusco. Enjoy a sophisticated dinner on board, accompanied by live music. Upon arrival in Cusco, enjoy a private transfer to your hotel.
Day 8 — Cusco
This morning, embark on a tour of Cusco. Start with a visit to the Cathedral on Plaza de Armas, followed by the Santo Domingo Temple, which was built on the foundations of the Koricancha, a significant Inca temple dedicated to worshipping the sun. The tour continues to the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman, which offers panoramic views of Cusco. You’ll also visit Qenqo, renowned for its intricately carved rock formations, including complex patterns, steps, seats, and a puma design. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening at your leisure in Cusco.
Day 9 — Cusco – Puno
This morning, enjoy a private transfer to Cusco Airport ahead of your flight. Upon arrival at Juliaca Airport, enjoy a private transfer to your hotel. After checking in, enjoy a delicious lunch at the hotel. Take the afternoon to rest and acclimatize to the altitude, drinking plenty of fluids. Tea will be served later in the afternoon. You can then choose from various activities to explore the surroundings, such as kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, or sailing on Lake Titicaca. Alternatively, you might prefer a bicycle ride through the fields of Platería, a stroll along country paths, or birdwatching amidst the stunning landscapes. In the evening, enjoy cocktails and a delicious dinner at the hotel.
Day 10 — Puno
Begin your day with a nourishing breakfast while enjoying serene views of Lake Titicaca. Embark on a guided visit to the Uros floating islands, where you'll meet a traditional Uro-Aymara family, known for their expert weaving and unique reed-built islands. Continue to Taquile Island, known for its vibrant weaving traditions and Quechua culture. Explore the island’s intricate textiles, recognized by UNESCO, and enjoy a picnic with stunning views of the lake. Return to your hotel to unwind with cocktails and dinner, wrapping up a day of rich cultural experiences.
Day 11 — Puno
Start your day with a nutritious breakfast of fresh fruits and local cereals, either in your room or on the terrace. Set off on a full-day exploration of the Aymara Route, where you’ll experience magical landscapes, wildlife, and views of the Chucuito Peninsula and Ácora community. Journey back to pre-Inca times as you learn about Titicaca’s role in Andean life, the ‘cosmovision’ worldview, and the deep connection between humans and nature. Move at your own pace—by car, bicycle, or on foot—along winding country paths with inspiring views of Lake Titicaca. Here you can spot native birds, archaeological sites, and locals in their daily routines. Enjoy a picnic lunch with sweeping vistas of the lake. Return to the hotel and enjoy a delightful dinner to wrap up your day.
Day 12 — Puno – Cusco
This morning, enjoy a private transfer to the Puno train station. Board the Belmond Andean Explorer, and settle in. In the afternoon, stop at La Raya, the border between the regions of Cusco and Puno. Following this, enjoy a cocktail and dinner on board, before spending the rest of your night at your leisure.
